A beautiful autumn afternoon

After all the rain we've had over the last couple of weeks, it's been an absolute joy to take Poppy out when the sun is shining.

This morning it was still, very quiet, and very dark without a breath of wind and that early morning start has translated into an absolutely glorious autumn afternoon. I wore my padded jacket, but I really didn't need it; it was far too warm for that. In fact, I could have got away with a T-shirt.

Late October and it's like a summer's day. The views on my walk are glorious, with the trees starting to turn colour and the bracken developing into a most wonderful russet colour.

Poppy loves running around in the sun, and I like the sun too - not too keen on the running around part, though'

Let's hope we have a few more days like today before winter sets in.
