Cloudy with a Chance of Love by Fiona Collins

Blurb

Every cloud has a silver lining when it comes to love…

Daryl Williams never minded the fact that she had a big bottom. It’s always been behind her. In fact, it was one of the things that her husband loved about her. Until he ran off with her best friend, Gabby.

Daryl knows that she needs to get back in the dating game, she just doesn’t know how. So when her friend suggests taking a fortune forecast, she reluctantly agrees. And it looks like Daryl’s luck is in, by Friday she has a 99% chance of falling in love!

Only, even when it’s written in the stars, finding the one after the one is never easy…

Review

This was full of giggles and laugh out loud moments from start to finish. I simply adored the author's voice - she has a great turn of phrase practically every page took me back to my teenage years. Daryl is so English she made me smile.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book. It's a light read but a totally enjoyable one, full of cringe-worthy situations and mishaps, with an MC who is down-to-earth and real and so very funny. I adored her job, and the title was so apt - marvellous!

I can imagine having Daryl as a friend, and the author lets us peek into her slightly batty, often off-kilter world, and I wanted to be a part of it. I didn't stop smiling all the way through.

Though Will is hunky and sexy and "lovely" (Daryl's description, not mine), he's just like her, a normal man living a normal life, and the whole story left me with an Aaah at the end of it - just what I expect from a chick lit.
