What a sad, poignant, uplifting, heartwarming story this is. I smiled and cried in turns, in between nodding my head and sympathising with Zoe having to deal with Martha. Ms Johnson portrays a teenage girl so accurately I could see my own daughter peering out of the pages. Of course, Martha has it so much worse, having just lost her mother, and I felt Zoe's pain in trying to deal with her own loss while having to stay strong for Martha at the same time.

I wouldn't say this is a particularly festive read, despite the cover, but it's certainly a feel-good read.
