This is such a sweet, gentle book. Absolutely delightful! It’s a pleasant change to read a story about older women, women in the later part of their lives.

Underneath the seemingly sedate layers of their lives lies heartache, rejection, guilt, love and deep emotion; all the baggage of lives well-lived are revealed, all their hopes and fears, troubles and uplifting moments.

I felt privileged to be allowed a peek into the daily lives of these four women, all so different, and yet all so relatable. The author has drawn each character with superb understanding and empathy, and although the plot might be as serene and lazy as a hot summer afternoon, the story reveals a depth and warmth that will curl around your heart and cuddle you in its hand long after you have turned the last page.
