This year, I’m once again taking part in Children in Read 2025, a wonderful annual charity event that brings together authors, readers, and book lovers to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
If you’ve not come across it before, Children in Read is an online literary auction where readers can bid for signed books, dedications, and exclusive goodies donated by authors across the UK. It’s all in support of Children in Need, which helps disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
A Story for a Good Cause
For the 2025 auction, I’ve donated a signed copy of Summer on the Turquoise Coast and Love in the City by the Sea, along with a personal dedication to the winning bidder. So if you fancy owning a book signed just for you (or someone special!), you’ll be helping raise funds for an amazing cause at the same time.
You can browse the full auction and place your bid here: www.childreninread.co.uk or if you want to bid on my lot (Lot 209), you can do so here.
Why It Matters
BBC Children in Need supports thousands of projects that help children facing all sorts of challenges: poverty, illness, disability, or mental health struggles. Every penny raised goes toward giving those children the support and opportunities they deserve.
How You Can Help
Here’s how you can get involved:
Bid on a book! There are hundreds of authors taking part, from big names to debut writers. There’s something for everyone.
Spread the word. Share the link, tell your friends, shout about it on social media — the more people who know, the more we can raise.
So, go on - have a browse through the auction, place a bid, and maybe you’ll end up with a signed book (and a warm, fuzzy feeling, too!).
