I've been lucky enough to have visited this glorious island several times, and the variety of landscapes never ceases to amaze me. I fell in love with it from the very first day, so I suppose it was only natural that I would use it as a setting in my novels - three of them, to be exact, collectively known as The Island Romance series.
In Sunrise on the Coast, Sophie regularly walks along a coastal path between Alcalá and Playa de la Arena, and I have strolled this exact same path more times than I can remember (probably because my memory is awful!).
The coastline is rocky and wild in places, and when the surf is up, it can be quite dramatic. It's also a wonderful place to stretch your legs and walk off some of those holiday calories - until you get to the end of your walk and simply can't resist stopping off for some well-earned refreshments. And on the way, sits a house in the middle of nowhere that's perfect to have a story written about it - so it ended up in Sunrise on the Coast.
I thought I'd share my own image of the hunky and slightly brooding Alejandro with you. You know how when we read a book we get an image in our head of what each character looks like? Well, this is how I envisaged him to look... He's rather gorgeous, isn't he??
Meet Alex. He's yummy.

In fact, his name is also Alex (Alex Gonzalez). Sorry to borrow you, Mr Gonzalez, but you fit my Alex perfectly.
All the books are stand alone, so you don't have to read them in order. Just dive right in and immerse yourself in the sheer delight of this magical island - and a cute romance, too!
